Klaus Henrik Wiese-Hansen admitted to the Supreme Court

Congratulations to our partner Klaus Henrik Wiese-Hansen who is now admitted to the Supreme Court. He recently litigated his second test case for the Supreme Court, representing the (former) CEO of a bankrupt shipyard against direct claims from a creditor who suffered a financial loss due to the bankruptcy of the shipyard.

A key issue in the case was whether the CEO had an obligation to inform contractual parties in on-going contractual relationships of the company's economic difficulties before the company objectively was insolvent. The judgment from the Supreme Court in this important case is expected before Christmas.

Klaus Henrik is specialized in insurance, pensions, asset management and financial services regulations. He particularly advises Norwegian and international insurance companies, insurance brokers, asset managers, investment firms and financial institutions. The assistance includes, inter alia, licensing processes, restructuring, M&A and portfolio transfers, establishment of cooperative relationships and joint ventures, product development, drafting of insurance terms, and dispute resolution relating to insurance coverage, claims settlement and liability for damages.

For the last three years, our lawyers have litigated more than 30 cases before the Supreme Court. We have one of the country's broadest litigation environments for Norway's Supreme Court and 17 of our lawyers are now admitted to the Supreme Court.
